Join San Juan Safaris on an adventurous 3 hour trek through some of the most spectacular scenery in the Pacific Northwest. See Orca whales, bald eagles, seals, porpoise, otter, great blue heron, seabirds, sea stars, kelp forests, wild mink and more. Half the fun is getting there! The ferry is a tour in itself. Friday Harbor is full of interesting shops, restaurants and sights. The finger docks make it a snap to enter and exit your kayak. The kayaks are ready to go when you arrive, no hassles with unloading and reloading onto a vehicle. This tour is great for first timers, no experience required. The route follows the shoreline, where most of the wildlife is seen. Lots of birds (you almost always see king fishers diving for food), seals, kelp forest and tide pool life. Your guide is a professional naturalist. This company is known for its respectful wildlife viewing ethics. Important Note: Regardless of whether you are bringing your car on the ferry, it is best to be waiting in the Anacortes parking lot 1 hour ahead of the ferry departure (not to be confused with the time of your TOUR departure) In July and August arrive at least 1.5 hours prior to the ferry departure. Park your car in the Anacortes ferry parking lot. Purchase a passenger ticket. Allow at least 90 minutes driving time from Seattle to Anacortes. Ferry schedule changes seasonally. Please check the latest Washington State Ferry schedule to ensure you arrive with enough time to make your way to the tour departure point.
